Jessica and Nidal's Stunning Wedding Story

Tell us about your love story so far. How did you meet, what was the proposal like?

We met each other in late 2000 we were both working in retail at the same company whilst we were both studying. We started out as friends but the attraction was so powerful we fell madly in love within a few months. In 2002 our individual career paths separated us from working together however our relationship continued to blossom.

In 2006 my human resources career took a new direction and I started working in the resources industry. This sparked an interest for Nidal and a few months later he was offered a position within the same company and went off to work on an oil and gas drilling rig in central Australia. This meant he would be away for 6 months of the year, working 3 weeks away at a time. This was a hard adjustment, which in reality just brought us closer together.

We built our first dream home together in 2007 and were so excited to finally live together from April 2008.

Together we share the best of what life has to offer and surround ourselves with love from our family and friends.

The proposal was on Christmas Day 2008, our first Christmas together in our new home. We awoke that morning and exchanged Christmas presents. We were preparing to have family over for a late lunch. A couple hours prior to our family arriving, Nidal walked over to me and he opened a little black a box displaying the most gorgeous white gold diamond ring I had ever seen. This was a complete surprise and I was totally in awe.

He expressed his love for me and admitted he could never live without me and our amazing love. He asked me to marry him and of course I responded gently with “I love you and I will”. The acceptance was sealed with an embrace and a passionate kiss. We celebrated with family and friends over Christmas lunch. We held our cocktail style engagement party on a Sunday afternoon of a long weekend in March 2009 at the gorgeous beach front Largs Pier Hotel. Read more of their love story»

Rebecca Zajac : 3 Piece Events

Tell us a little bit about your business,
3 Piece Events?

With a desire to show that anything is possible, 3 Piece Events began its slow but steady journey in 2008. I have worked in the events industry for more than 10 years and have always been faced with what is deemed “acceptable”, package restrictions, what you should and shouldn’t do and I realised that I needed to challenge these thoughts and products.

3 Piece Events is all about encouraging clients to imagine what their wedding could look like, how it should feel and then getting out there and doing it. I am continuously challenged to come up with unique ideas and I love this about my work. Business for me is not about financial gain, but about personal independence and enjoyment.

I work with private clients (brides and grooms, parents and grandparents) and I also work for companies and not for profit organisations who seek assistance with event management. Read the entire interview with 3 Piece Events »

Amy and Matt
Tell us about your love story so far. How did you meet, what was the proposal like?

"We moved to Darwin early in our relationship. When back in Adelaide, on our 2 and a half year anniversary, Matt sent flowers and a gift voucher for a day spa to my work. I left work and was pampered until we met for lunch at a city hotel where he presented me with a room key. After spending the afternoon relaxing at the hotel (still oblivious to anything going on), we headed down to what I thought was a work function at the Botanic Gardens and there was a horse and carriage waiting. Matt proposed straight away with the most beautiful heartfelt words and the most stunning ring. After a tour around the city on the carriage, we had champagne on the river and then went back to the hotel where our room was now covered in candles and rose petals with a three course dinner in our room and champagne. Our future wedding song was playing as we walked in. The next morning, yet another surprise came and Matt flew me to Cradle Mountain in Tasmania for a week. When we arrived here, a gorgeous gown was waiting for me to wear and it fitted perfectly! When we got back, our puppy had balloons around her neck and our families were waiting to congratulate us. Tell us about your love story so far. How did you meet, what was the proposal like?

"Chad and I met in our teen years, through him being friends with my older brothers. We had been dating since valentine’s day 2001 and we travelled to the UK in 2005 for a working holiday. We backpacked for 3 months through Europe and the US on our way back to Australia, and he proposed in Venice! He got down on one knee in a gondola. I was SO surprised ~ it was lucky I didn’t fall out the boat!! Hehe
We chose the engagement ring together in a jeweller in New York a few weeks later." Read more of their love story»
