Real Wedding – Nikki and Matt – Newport

Who knew charcoal grey and yellow could look so amazing! Photographed by Kristin Spencer, I fall in love with this wedding every time I look at the incredibly creative floral arrangements thanks to Stoneblossom Floral and Event Design and amazing images (Kudos Kristin). This wedding would have to be a dream job, albeit hard for any floral designer. I bring you, Nikki and Matt, our first international Real Wedding. Thank you Kristin Spencer for allowing us to feature your work on our blog! It’s weddings like this that reiterate why I love colour! Nikki’s attendants all wore different shades of blue and different dress styles. Teemed with their incredible yellow and ivory bouquets, the girls looked amazing! Having a selection of different outfits and colour shades really ads depth to the group images. I LOVE it when attendants have a little bit of individuality for this exact reason. The boys…

I adore the texure and muted tones used in these bouquets. A burst of colour! Magpies Cakes

Magpies Cakes

A  few weeks ago I came across the work of Maggie LaBaugh, creative chef and owner of Magpies Cakes. I was  immediately taken by the delicacy and dainty-ness of Maggie’s creations. There is something so soft, feminine and bespoke about Maggie’s Cakes. “Newly-launched Magpie’s Cake, serving the Washington DC metro area, is quickly gaining a reputation as cake art. A former classical ballet dancer, Chef and owner Maggie LaBaugh carries this aesthetic into her cake design by maintaining technique, elegance, symmetry, and line but doing so with ease and charm and a sense of freedom.  Like an haute couture garment, all elements are meticulously sculpted and hand-painted, while the overall effect remains clean and light.  Maggie graduated with honors from The French Pastry School in Chicago and immediately began an internship at world-renowned restaurant, Charlie Trotter’s.  Her commitment to excellence extends to her flavor profiles which include Mexican Vanilla Cake with…

Jasmine Star

It seemed like a really really good idea at the time. I finally mustered up the courage to contact Jasmine Star to see if we could feature some of her work in our humble little blog. I had stage fright sooooo many times and must admit, now putting together my piece, I’m a little star struck .  What I hadn’t taken into consideration how hard it was for me to narrow down the images I wanted to feature in my post …. insert one solid week of perusing Jasmine’s portfolio… LOL and my longest blog post ever! Jasmine is an international wedding photographer based in California (good news Australian brides). She has received numerous awards for her incredible work and has also been rated as one of America’s top ten wedding photographers by American Photo Magazine.  Many photographers I know will claim (as will I) that Jasmine is one of the  worlds…

Real Wedding – Simone and Dan

This beautiful NSW wedding was situated on Chinaman’s Beach Rosherville Reserve and photographed by SugarLove Weddings. I love Simone’s use of fresh David Austin Roses in her bouquet, aisle decorations through to their gorgeous cake. Their understated table runners provide a modern earthy element and tie in with their stationery and table menues beautifully. Simone and Dan, thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding with us. Look out for the November issue of Studio Brides who will also be doing a fabulous feature of Simone and Dan’s beautiful wedding. Please meet Simone and Dan Images are copyright and supplied courtesy of SugarLove Weddings   1/ Tell us about your love story so far. How did you meet, what was the proposal like?
